Addressing the Challenges of a
Smaller Upfit Inventory

First Step is to Implement our “Coming Soon” Routine

This routine gets upfit vehicles, that are on order, included in your work truck inventory weeks sooner. How you might ask?

This routine can add upfit vehicles to your commercial inventory long before they are available in your DMS. This means buyers will have the opportunity of seeing (and buying) these vehicles weeks before they become available to your DMS and therefore your work truck inventory. Which means replacement vehicles can be ordered weeks sooner, as well.

Second Step is to Implement our “Rules Based Inventory Load” Routine

This routine can increase the size of your work truck inventory, while maintaining its integrity. This routine will load your work truck inventory based on rules you establish for your inventory. Below is an example of one dealer’s rules. They did not want their work truck inventory overwhelmed with retail pickups.

Condition Rule:

Include both new and used vehicles.

New Vehicles Adder Rules:

Add 1/2 Ton pickups that have a regular cab or supercab and crew cabs that have a base trim line.
Add all 3/4 Ton pickups that have a base trim line.
Add all 1 Ton Pickups.
Add all Cargo Vans.
Add all Upfit Trucks.
Passenger Vans

Used Vehicles Adder Rules:

All used vehicles must have less than 100,000 miles and be no more then 3 years old, except Upfit Trucks.
Add all 1/2 Ton pickups that have a base trim line.
Add all 3/4 Ton pickups that have a base trim line.
Add all 1 Ton Pickups.
Add all Chassis Cabs.
Add all Cargo Vans.
Add all Upfit Trucks.
Passenger Vans
